Funny Epitaphs
27 February 2010

Hi! I was searching for inspiration to write an epitaph for Bottom of Midsummer's Night Dream (for homework. of course not for fun) and these are some of the funny ones i came across: Here lies the body of Jonathan Blake Stepped on the gas Instead of the brake. Memory of an accident in a Uniontown, Pennsylvania cemetery Here lays Butch, We planted him raw. He was quick on the trigger, But slow on the draw. In a Silver City, Nevada, cemetery Reader if cash thou art In want of any Dig 4 feet deep And thou wilt find a Penny. John Penny's epitaph in the Wimborne, England, cemetery "That's all, folks!" Mel Blanc (the epithaph is the trademark line of cartoon character Porky Pig, whose voice was provided by Blanc for many years) In Memory of Beza Wood Departed this life Nov. 2, 1837 Aged 45 yrs. Here lies one Wood Enclosed in wood One Wood Within another. The outer wood Is very good: We cannot praise The other. Someone in Winslow, Maine didn't like Mr. Wood In Newbury, England [1742] Tom Smith is dead, and here he lies, Nobody laughs and nobody cries; Where his soul's gone, or how it fares, Nobody knows, and nobody cares. In a Leeds graveyard [1861] Here lies my wife, Here lies she; Hallelujah! Hallelujee! John Dryden (1631-1700) on his wife Here lies my wife: here let her lie! Now she's at rest, and so am I. Sir John Strange (1696-1754) Here lies an honest lawyer, - That is Strange. HAHA, funny, right? Anyways, I just came back from OBS and if I were to measure my skin tone on the skin whitening advert thing I'm probably a 15. =.= I have giant pus-filled blisters on my trench feet...BUT I NOW HAVE MUSCLES! *flexes* Haha, OBS was super fun! But I really hated the trekking-for-3-hours-carrying-a-20kg-backpack part. But we got to do quarry-jumping (jumping off a cliff for like 1 metres and into a quarry filled with nice, clean fresh rainwater) and THE PACKET DRINKS WERE TOTALLY AWESOME, OK? HAHA! If I feel like writing more about OBS I may, but now I need to continue writing my epitaph. XD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The writer really is not ready for the 3 tests next week. |
